Fully Automatic Rigid Box Making Machine KY-6003 / KY-6005 — Layout-Forming Integrated Box Former with Robotic Precision
Produce premium top-and-bottom lid rigid boxes in one machine — no corner-staying, no panel-splicing equipment needed. Yamaha robotic arm positions greyboard with sub-millimeter accuracy while simultaneous cold and hot glue creates structurally perfect boxes at 15-28 pcs/min.

Eliminate 3 Machines From Your Rigid Box Production Line
Traditional rigid box making requires separate forming, corner staying, and panel splicing machines. The KY-6003/6005 does it all in one integrated unit.
Traditional Multi-Machine Workflow
- Separate box forming, corner staying, and panel splicing machines
- 3-5 operators needed across different stations
- Large floor space for multiple machines and WIP inventory
- Material waste from extra corner tapes and splicing strips
- Quality inconsistency between stations and shifts
- Slow changeover — each machine needs individual setup
KY-6003/6005 Integrated Solution
- One machine replaces box former + corner stayer + panel splicer
- Minimal operators for fully automatic production
- Single machine footprint — 70% less floor space needed
- Zero corner tape waste — dual glue system bonds directly
- Yamaha robotic arm ensures identical quality on every box
- Quick changeover with stored recipes for repeat jobs
Revolutionary Rigid Box Technology
The KY-6003/6005 represents a new generation of integrated box forming — combining precision robotics, dual adhesive systems, and one-machine-does-all simplicity.
No Corner Staying Required
The integrated layout-forming process produces structurally rigid corners during box forming itself. No separate corner-staying machine, no corner tapes — fewer steps, less waste, lower cost per box.
Yamaha Robotic Arm
Industrial-grade Yamaha robotic arm delivers sub-millimeter precision positioning of greyboard panels. Repeatable accuracy ensures perfect alignment on every box at full production speed.
3-Board & 5-Board Splicing
Handle both 3-piece (base + 2 walls) and 5-piece (base + 4 walls) greyboard constructions seamlessly. Top-and-bottom lid boxes formed completely without separate splicing equipment.
Dual Adhesive System
Cold glue and hot melt glue applied simultaneously in one cycle. Cold glue provides long-term structural bonding while hot glue delivers instant tack — speed and durability in one pass.
15-28 Boxes Per Minute
High-speed production with consistent output regardless of shift or operator. Fully automatic feeding and forming eliminates the throughput bottlenecks of multi-machine workflows.
Wide Material Range
Greyboard from 1mm to 8mm, tissue/wrapping paper from 80 to 350 g/m². Handles everything from lightweight gift boxes to heavy-duty luxury packaging and presentation cases.

Rigid Box Making Machine Demo
Watch the complete box-forming cycle — from flat greyboard and tissue paper to finished rigid boxes, with no corner staying required.
From Flat Materials to Finished Rigid Box in 4 Steps
A fully automated cycle — load materials, and the machine handles everything from gluing to finished box output.
Auto Material Feed
Load greyboard panels and tissue (wrapping) paper into the feeder trays. The machine automatically feeds both materials into the forming station.
Robotic Positioning
Yamaha robotic arm picks and positions each greyboard panel with sub-millimeter accuracy. 3-board or 5-board layout is assembled on the forming bed.
Dual Glue & Form
Cold glue and hot melt are applied simultaneously. The tissue paper wraps the greyboard layout, walls fold up, and corners bond structurally — no corner staying needed.
Finished Box Output
The completed rigid box exits the machine ready for quality inspection and packing. Top and bottom lids produced in the same workflow.

Rigid Box Making Machine FAQ
Common questions about the KY-6003/6005 fully automatic rigid box making machine and integrated box forming technology.
Traditional rigid box production requires a separate corner-staying machine to tape or glue the folded corners of greyboard boxes for structural integrity. The KY-6003/6005 eliminates this step entirely — the integrated layout-forming process with simultaneous cold and hot glue produces structurally rigid corners directly during box forming, saving an entire machine and labor step from the production line.
3-board splicing constructs boxes from three greyboard pieces (base + two side walls), while 5-board splicing uses five pieces (base + four separate side walls). The KY-6003/6005 handles both constructions in one machine, forming complete top-and-bottom lid boxes without needing separate panel-splicing equipment. This flexibility lets you produce different box styles on the same line.
The KY-6003/6005 produces 15 to 28 rigid boxes per minute depending on box size and greyboard thickness. Smaller, thinner boxes run at the upper end of the range, while larger, thicker constructions run slightly slower. This is significantly faster than traditional multi-machine workflows where throughput is bottlenecked by the slowest station.
The only difference is maximum box height: KY-6003 handles boxes up to 120mm tall, while KY-6005 extends to 180mm tall. All other specifications — speed, material range, power, dimensions, and weight — are identical. Choose the KY-6005 if you produce tall packaging for cosmetics, electronics, wine boxes, or other deep-box applications.
Both simultaneously. The KY-6003/6005 applies cold glue and hot melt glue in the same forming cycle. Cold glue provides long-term structural bonding that cures to full strength over hours, while hot glue provides instant tack so boxes can be handled immediately after forming. This dual-adhesive system delivers both production speed and bond durability.
You need: 380V 3-phase industrial power (8 KW), a 7.5 KW air compressor (7-9 kg pressure), a minimum floor space of 3m × 9m with clearance for loading and maintenance, and adequate floor load capacity for the 6,500 kg machine. Kylin engineers provide on-site installation, calibration, and operator training.
The KY-6003/6005 is fully automatic with auto-feeding of both greyboard and tissue paper. Minimal operators are needed — typically one person to load materials and monitor output, compared to 3-5 operators required for a traditional multi-machine rigid box production line.
Kylin Machines provides a 3-year quality warranty, on-site engineer installation and training, free remote technical support, priority spare parts delivery, and scheduled maintenance programs. With 10,000+ customers in 30 countries, Kylin also offers regional service networks for faster on-site response when needed.

The Future of Rigid Box Manufacturing: Integrated Layout-Forming Technology
Rigid boxes — also known as set-up boxes — are the gold standard of premium packaging. From luxury cosmetics and high-end electronics to jewelry, spirits, and corporate gifts, a well-made rigid box communicates quality before the customer even opens it. But traditionally, producing rigid boxes required a complex multi-machine workflow: separate equipment for greyboard forming, corner staying, panel splicing, and tissue wrapping — each needing its own operator, floor space, and maintenance schedule.
The KY-6003/6005 fully automatic rigid box making machine by Kylin Machines represents a paradigm shift in rigid box manufacturing. By integrating layout forming, 3-board and 5-board splicing, simultaneous cold and hot glue application, and tissue wrapping into a single automated machine with a Yamaha robotic arm, it eliminates the need for separate corner-staying and panel-splicing equipment entirely.
This integrated approach delivers measurable advantages: fewer machines on the floor (one instead of three or more), fewer operators (fully automatic feeding vs. 3-5 station workers), zero corner tape waste (the dual adhesive system bonds corners directly during forming), and consistent quality from the Yamaha robotic arm’s sub-millimeter positioning accuracy on every single box.
At 15-28 boxes per minute with greyboard up to 8mm thick and tissue paper from 80 to 350 g/m², the KY-6003/6005 covers the full spectrum of rigid box applications — from thin gift boxes to heavy-duty luxury packaging. Kylin Machines supports every installation with a 3-year warranty, on-site engineer training, and a global service network serving 10,000+ customers across 30 countries.
